One year without Kara Jane… we remember her.

One year ago today, the 2nd of January 2023, Kara Jane lost her fight to survive and died due to ME. Kara Jane’s family wish to thank everyone for their messages of support, thoughts and prayers.

Sadly, millions are still missing from society and Kara Jane’s family will never forget the ones that are bedbound, who are tube fed, who are dismissed or not believed by the medical profession. The ones suffering in their homes or hospitals and the ones losing their battle with their illness, just like Kara did last year. This is why Kara’s family will always be thinking of and praying for all who suffer with ME, and their family, friends and carers.

Kara Jane, before she died, was raising awareness and funds through her music and hoped to raise £100,000 for biomedical research with the ME Association. Thankfully, the ME Association announced a new post-mortem research partnership with Manchester Brain Bank. A great step towards understanding ME to develop diagnostic tests and effective treatments. However, continuous funds are needed for this sort of research to continue.

We are very excited to announce that her new album ‘In Limbo’ is being produced. Currently all the tracks that Kara wrote and performed are being mastered and further tracks written and performed by her sister Emily are in development. We will keep you updated on release dates and a range of merchandise that will be on sale.

Through album sales and donations Kara Jane managed to raise £19,456.25 so far and Kara’s family have been blown away by the generosity of others. With the release of her second album, Kara’s family wish to raise even more funds towards biomedical research. As Kara sung, we must remember them. Remember all those who have lost their fight, and all those who are still fighting and need our help.

Can you help us?

Thanks to the Local Vocals Ladies Choir from Chesterfield, ‘Remember Us’ a track from Kara Jane, Its Still M.E is being reproduced as we speak to be sung by as many choirs as possible. Throughout the world during ME Awareness week May 12th to 18th this year, Kara’s family would love as many choirs as possible to sing ‘Remember Us’ to post on social media.

If you know of or are part of a choir and would like to be given all the details of how to get involved, please contact us here.

Once again, thank you to all who have reached out to Kara Jane’s family and to all who continue to follow Kara’s journey. We will remember her and continue what she started.
