M.E Awareness Week

Loads of exciting news for ME Awareness week on week commencing the 11th of May 2024.

On World ME Day Kara’s family will be holding a medical education event at Kingsmill Hospital in Mansfield on Monday the 13th of May as part of #MillionsMissing #TeachMETreatME 2024. For more information or if you would like to take part, click here

On the 15th-16th there will be Unitetofight.org. With over 40 world class speakers, over 20 hours of high class talks and over 5000 people attending, this is going to be a great event to help educate and share best practice for people supporting or treating people with ME or Long Covid. Kara Jane’s family was invited to support this event with some of Kara’s music from her It’s Still M.E Album.

In addition to supplying Kara’s music for promotional video’s, there will be a video shown that has not been seen before. Kara Jane explains why she wrote her song “Stole” from her forthcoming album, “In Limbo” that she recorded after years of suffering from ME and died in 2023 aged 32.

We were also pleased to hear from Quebec Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Association (AQEM) Who again are using Kara Jane’s music as part of their awareness campaign for the 12th of may, World ME Awareness Day.

Kara Jane’s family wish to thank the hundreds of choirs and artists for volunteering to perform Remember Us at events in partnership with ME Action. If you wish to be involved and have not contacted us yet, please click here. For those that have already contacted us, Kara Jane’s family hope to be in contact with you all very soon to share the next steps and social media links.

You may remember that Kara Jane had an interview with Dolly Parton on BBC radio and we are looking to reach out to Dolly and other artists to join us in singing Remember us, remembering the #millionsmissing who are suffering or have lost their battle to Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and sadly died like Kara Jane.

We hope this will be performed on Severe ME awareness day on the 8th of August 2024 and every year thereafter. Again, if you would like to be involved please contact us here.

Since our last post, here the production team have continued working on the next Album In Limbo which we hope to release this summer posthumously. We thank again Liam Hicks, Alex Mcray and the team for all their hard work. Things are taking time, mainly due to the production team being so busy throughout the world in their respective music careers. We have great hopes that the album will have even greater success than It’s Still M.E which reached the dizzy heights of Number 8 in the UK official Album charts and is still available on all platforms including purchasing a CD and other merchandise here with all profits going to ME related charities including The ME Association.

Again, Kara Jane’s family wish to thank all those who have supported them, Musicians, Researchers, Advocates, Press, and many more. Thankyou
